Biography
Leroy was born on January 20, 1955 as Leroy Tuiel Jr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. His parents father Leroy Tuiel Sr. & mother Inez Irvin. Leroy’s siblings by name from oldest to youngest are sister Connie, sister Sheila and brother Dion. Leroy was the 2nd oldest child of the group of siblings. He was also well known by nicknames such as Jr. & Tuiel to family members and close friends. In 1962 Leroy’s parents divorced and Inez took the kids and moved to Wilcox, Arizona where they stayed with their grandmother Lenora Edwards. In 1964 they moved to San Jose, California where his mother met a man named Paul King. Later Inez & Paul married and had Inez’s youngest child Paul Dion King. Leroy also has a hand full of nieces and nephews from his siblings alone oldest to youngest Katrina, Shantel, Roanika, Lakisha, Jason and Paul. Leroy also has huge amount of brother and sister in-laws along with nieces and nephews through marriage, but there is to many to name. He also has a great amount of great nieces & nephews on both sides to many to mention by name. In 1973 Leroy graduated from San Jose High School Academy, known as the home of the Bull Dogs who hold the “Big Bone”. During high school Leroy played football for the Bull Dogs. If Leroy’s name was mentioned when it came to football people knew who he was and how good he was at the game. Leroy also played football at San Jose City College in his freshman year back in 1974. In 1973 Leroy met a woman by the name of Rosaline Toves San Nicolas whom later became his wife in 1977. He became a father in 1976, to a baby girl named Tiffany in which he was proud of. Leroy was always a fun, loving, outgoing person with a good sense of humor that made many around him laugh. He always love to entertain, travel and take rides to places local as well as away from the bayarea. He was all about spending time with his family and friends. He loved to throw gatherings that everyone could come and enjoy good food and have a good time. Leroy kept in contact with most of his San Jose High friends and their families that he grew up with. In his adulthood he would hang out with child hood friends at Bini’s Bar and Grill located in downtown San Jose. Leroy had several hobbies that he enjoyed such as playing sports, fishing, fixing on cars and feeding animals of nature no matter if it was feeding nuts to the squirrels, providing bird food for birds and more. Leroy became a grandfather when his daughter had her 1st child, a girl named Brittany age 15 and then a boy Brandon age 4 1/2 and a baby boy on the way Bishop. Leroy was currently working for Stanford University in which he had been an employee there since 1996 in the department of Travel & Reimbursement. Leroy became sick in late 2009 and was hospitalized on New Year’s Day 2010 at Kaiser and then transferred on January 18th 2010 to Mission Skilled Nursing & Subacute Center in Santa Clara, Ca.. This is where he passed away a day after his 55th birthday on January 21st 2010.

Esther went to Lincoln, but she hung around with all Bulldogs. You would never know she went to Lincoln. Esther was also a big fight fan, she loved boxing at HP. Esther was also a huge "Raider Fan". Esther loved everybody, and everybody loved Esther. She will be missed by all her family and friends, and by all of us in the San Jose High Alumni Association.
